Study at the world-class Idyllwild Arts Academy
Idyllwild Arts Academy is one of only three major residential arts high schools in the US and is the only school of its kind west of the Mississippi. The Idyllwild Arts student body is made up of students from more than 30 countries and 27 US states. The academy is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), the California Association of Independent Schools (CAIS) and the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS).
Artistic and academic excellence
At Idyllwild Arts, our students devote themselves fully to the pursuit of both academic and artistic excellence. Running from September through May, the Idyllwild Arts Academy is an internationally acclaimed residential arts high school for students in grades nine through twelve. It provides pre-professional training in the arts and a comprehensive college preparatory curriculum to a diverse body of gifted young artists. Idyllwild Arts Academy gives students the skills they need to succeed in the highly competitive world of the arts, and in post-secondary education.

A broad range of social activities are also on offer, including concerts, exhibits, readings, cultural events, and weekend trips to nearby Los Angeles and San Diego. It offers onsite exercise facilities and the Krone Library, which contains more than 22,000 books, DVDs, CDs, LPs and music scores. Our dormitories are designed to provide students with a ‘home away from home,’ a welcoming, comfortable environment in which to relax between classes, rehearsals and other campus activities.

Idyllwild Arts Academy's 300 students pursue artistic excellence across a range of disciplines including music, theatre, dance, visual art, creative writing, film, and inter-arts or fashion design. Graduates of Idyllwild Arts Academy excel in every professional arts sector including Broadway theatre, primetime television, classical and jazz music, motion pictures, graphic design, photography and more.
